Rockin my Mohawk - Another Summer look

Although I rocked this style in February, I wanted to show this to you because I think its hot(as in good) and  it's one I would wear in the Summer. I am blessed with a face and head that can sport almost anything. So I woke up one morning and decided I wanted to be different and do something out of the box. I had seen some ppl sport the mohawk, but I started to think, it only looked good on ppl with small head and slim faces, you know, skinny chicks. Anyway, I decided I was still going to try it.  I went to my friend Cynthia Anderson, whom I have known since I was a kid. She works at Anoited Touch salon. The price she quoted me was very reasonable and she was able to fit me in rather quickly. First of all, I go there and I am kin to or know every other person with a booth: my cousins Sara, Rockie, Licious, which is the owner of the shop, friends from high shcool and so on... The atmosphere is very nice as well as the stylist. Cynthia is a cartoon character herself so I have always enjoyed her presence weather is was hair, singing, or just laughing period. I called her and exlplain the style I wanted. I showed up with a huge bag of hair for braid ing and weaving. She laughed and said, girl you don't need all that, then began her magic.  Just to describe the look, she braided the sides and the back of my hair up into the mohawk connecting the braids at the top. Then she sowed in hair I provided and pulled it out into order to shape and cut the style. I sooo enjoyed this hair do and everywhere I went I received compliments. I felt edgy yet classy. It was different for me but like I said, I rocked it!  For more information on Cynthia Anderson, pls see below.

Mommy's Big Girl is Two!

So we celebrated my Bumble Bee's birthday. And out of all the things I do, I really enjoy my job or privilege, if you will, of being a mother. Now its hard work, but the reward of waking up every morning and ZEW saying, "Hi mommy!" makes me get up everyday ready to take over the world. Two is such a big step in life. I now understand more of what she says. She gives the biggest hugs and kisses. And we keep having these lil talks where I say something and she says yes like she understands...Humph, she probably do. Her birthday party was this weekend and she had a blast. No theme, just cousins and friends playing on her swing set. Its too funny, they call our house the park. We sang Happy Birthday to You and she sings, Happy Day! Too cute. We dressed in yellow, her signature color, cuz she's my Bumble Bee, remember... And everywhere she went she posed for her close up. I love it!! Now, I almost talked myself out of this party twice, I mean to the very last minute but end the end I'm glad we went thru with it. Here's her day...

Mane Attraction- Season's First Look/An Evening Out

Season's First Look

Ok so I change my hair like I change my socks. Normally in the spring and summer, I like to become Jill Scott, my favorite singer. My motto: "I'm everyone I pretend to be...(Living Single-Regine) I like the Afrocentric and natural look cuz its very hot and humid in TN and its an easy coif to maintain.  So here I am above in my first look for the warm season. Jill inspired. The front is braided for show and the back is playful curls in a fro. Simple and pretty without trying to be. I was going to sew in my Jerry Curl tracks in the back and then pick it out into an Afro but this particular night it got late and I felt that would take too long. So I went to the hair store and bought a fall. The name of this fall is called, Gloria from the Bobbi Boss, Easy Wear line. I had a friend braid the front back, then continue a braid around my head into a bee hive in order to anchor the fall. All together this style took two and a half hours of my time. Anyway, How you like the final outcome.

An Evening Out

This is my sister in law, Proud Mother of Four, LaDonna Williams. I salute her for her patience and grace to be married to my brother and her heart for taking care of four children, two hers and two her step children. She makes blended families look easy and the fact that she always answers her phone in what seems to be a good mood and perky attitude, sickens me. I know I would be pulling my hair out.

Ok so she calls me and tells me, she is going out. All she wanted was her make up done and lashes. I was like ok. However, right before she came she calls and says, "Oh and I need some hair." Mind you her hair is thick and down her back but I understand, time is of the essence when you finally get to go out and let your hair down, doing your hair is not quite on the list of things you choose to do with that free time. Here's her outcome...

First of all, I parted and left out a section in the front of her head, flat ironed that section and proceeded to manage the back. I had a fall called Roxie with full body curls, highlighted color 4/30. This girl(wig) looks good on anybody, it just depends on the way you choose to wear it. I braided her natural hair into two old braids and pinned them up. Placed the fall on her head securing with the combs already in the fall and two hair pins. Finally, I pulled the front of her hair back into a bump and curled her some cascading curls and blended it with the fall. Here we have a night look which looks like she spent at least 3hrs in the shop. "Girl, she would say, I just don't have time." 30 minutes tops.

My Passion

Hey guys here's  a few pictures of my passion, Make Up. I love it!! I'm not yet an actual MUA, but that is my desire and trust me, I will soon make it so. Right now I'm operating off of pure passion and a love for creativity. I have looked into some schools in my area and I will keep you posted on my journey toward my MUA. Now, I love making people pretty and allowing them to see the beauty in themselves through whatever measures that must be taken, however my favorite it makeup and hair. Yes Beauty is only skin deep but a very nice tool to use in order to get one's attention in sampling the inside..the essence of you period...your spirit, joy, love, and mind, so don't despise the who blah of beauty, just make it work for you. Anyway, below is some run way looks as well as everyday u looks, check out my skills and tell me what you think.

Introducing Miss BumbleBee

Ladies and Gentlemen, the joy of my world, Miss Zion E. Williams, I call her ZEW for short. This two year old little girl has made my life betta than I could ever image. She pushes me to do and be more than I ever dreamed and propells me to places I never thought I would be bold enough to go. There is no option for failure with her. She expects to be feed, clothed, sheltered, and to feel safe. I get up every morning motivated by her smile and go to bed every night inspired  by her laugh ready to do it all again the next day. ZEW arrived on the scene two months early cuz she is impatient. Plus, she doesn't feel she has to follow anyone's schedule but her own.I call her my Bumble Bee because of the issues I had with her on the journey to get her in the world and a sermon I heard when I was a little girl.
Getting ZEW here was a challenge within itself, however, I purposed in my heart that regardless of what happened, who didn't like it, no matter what was said or done,  she was going to get here.   My challenges began with her father not wanting her here, then an emergency gall bladder surgery, labor and 2cm dialation at five months, premature delivery at seven months with concern that her lungs were undeveloped. However, through it all , God was faithful and she arrived, perfect. When I was a little girl every Sunday morning, my mother listened to a Minister by the name of Michael Lee Graves and one day he talked abt the bumble bee.  He stated because of the size and shape of the bumble bee dynamically and scientifically the bumble bee wasn't suppose to be able to fly. Its body was round instead of oblong and its wings were too small and thin to actually carry the insects weight; yet it still flies. Why? Becuz God says it flies.  I was sitting in a chair one day thinkin of all that had been said and done when God, told me, she was my little Bumble Bee. Now, I analyze everything. I was like, " God are you saying she is a fighter and has enough sting or strength to handle her own, what? Plus my concern was once a bumble bee stings, it dies." He told me, "Yes, she's a fighter like her mother, however, the fact that she is here is and will continue to kill alot of things He was ready to die in my life. Like, fear, non-accountability, the lack of responsibility to live right, cuz assumingly I thought I wasn't being watched, a spirit of selfishness and self-centeredness. Most of all but definitely not last, the sense that I could do things on my own. I would have to come to Him to raise this child and to know how to be a mommy period. Plus she lives cuz I say she lives." I said, "Oh, ok."

So I want to encourage anyone whose life did not turn our like a fairy tail and some of the decisions you have made and things you have done you aren't so proud of. God can make your mess into messages and ministry. And what was used in attempt to destroy you and break you down, God can turn that thing around to restore and rebuild you. I love my daughter more than I ever thought I could love anything. I am so glad she has changed my life.

Welcome to Hillaryville

Hi my name is Hillary Elizabeth Williams aka HEW for short. I am a 33 years old, 5'6", caramel toned, "Brown Suga Baby." I consider myself to be intelligent, witty, fun loving, and independent. I am a mother of a 2yr old daughter, whom I call BumbleBee and the primary caretaker of my mother, Flower Child. I was born and raised in Middle TN, where I still reside. I have a passion for all things fashion, namely makeup and hair, but Baby, I can shop and spend money better than anybody I know. I attended Paul Mitchell cosmetology school and have spent a lifetime fascinated in the artistic world of fashion. I am a plus size sista, with curves and fullness for days, but don't get it twisted, I carry me well. I get bored with mediocrity and things that remain the same, thus, the reason that my hair may change with my mood and I always want the "Supa Size." I call my blog Hillaryville because throughout my life I have always experienced and seen things in a different light from all those around me. I am excited by life. I cry when I'm sad, laugh when it’s funny, love the unlovable, and Chile, I can nurture a tree. Some may call me drama, emotional, extreme, or just too much! I call it a day and a life in Hillaryville. Come join me, you will never look at your life the same.
